Optional garnishes: lettuce, additional sliced green onions
1. Cook the Bacon: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lay the bacon strips in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until crispy. Drain on paper towels and then break into halves.
2. Prepare the Gochujang Mayo: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, gochujang, and sesame oil until smooth. Set aside.
3. Cook the Burgers: Season the Wahlburgers House Blend Burgers with salt and pepper. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burgers for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach the desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Wahlburgers American Cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.
4. Toast the Buns: Butter the cut sides of the buns lightly and toast them on the grill or skillet until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
5. Assemble the Burgers: Spread a generous amount of gochujang mayo on the bottom and top buns. On each bottom bun, place a leaf of lettuce (if using), followed by the cheese-topped burger patty. Top each patty with an equal portion of chopped kimchi and two halves of crispy bacon. Sprinkle with sliced green onions. Cap with the top buns.
6. Serve: Serve the Kimchi Bacon Blaze Burgers immediately, offering extra gochujang mayo on the side for those who desire more heat.
