  • 6 slices Wahlburgers Hickory Smoked Bacon
  • 8 cups fresh leaf lettuce, washed and torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: cherry tomatoes, sliced hard-boiled eggs
  1. 1. Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the Wahlburgers Hickory Smoked Bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease in the skillet.
  2. 2. Prepare the Dressing: Add the thinly sliced red onion to the skillet with the reserved bacon grease. Cook over medium heat until the onion is softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the apple cider vinegar, sugar, and Dijon mustard. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is heated through, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. 3. Assemble the Salad: Place the torn lettuce in a large salad bowl. Pour the warm dressing and onions over the lettuce and toss to wilt the lettuce slightly. Crumble the cooked bacon over the top of the salad.
  4. 4. Add Optional Garnishes: If desired, add cherry tomatoes and sliced hard-boiled eggs to the salad for extra flavor and texture.
  5. 5. Serve Immediately: Serve the Bacon Wilted Lettuce Salad warm, allowing the flavors to meld together.
